Getting there:
The airport is located 18 miles from midtown Manhattan. Driving time is subject to traffic. It usually takes up to 90 minutes to get there.
Parking information:
Parking starts at $15 daily, $5 for each subsequent eight-hour period at a long-term lot located 4 miles from the airport at Lefferts Boulevard. The Air Train connects the lot with the airport terminals daily every 4 to 8 minutes from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 12 minutes from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Please note that the red parking lot next to Terminals 8 and 9 is closed until 2007. More information here.

The Air Train connects the airport terminals to four subway lines and the Long Island Rail Railroad.
Taxis:
Flat fares to Manhattan costs around $45 plus tolls and tip. For other destinations, there is a 50-cent surcharge for trips from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily and and a $1 surcharge for trips from 4 to 8 p.m.on weekdays.
Shuttle buses:
Various shuttle buses run to and from the airport to different points in the city. Fares range from $15 to $19 each way.
