First impressions of Portland have visitors seeing green - green of the trees and parks that dominate the landscape. Portland’s parks are as much a part of the quality of life as the coffeehouses, bookstores and eateries. Experience what makes Portland such a special city.

Your tour starts at Pioneer Courthouse Square “Portland’s Living Room.” The narration will include Portland’s past, present and future, as your tour unfolds revealing the secrets and highlights of the city.

You’ll begin by winding through the streets of Downtown, Old town and Chinatown. The Pearl District is a beautiful old neighborhood that is being renewed to upscale lofts and condos. It’s an area of fountains, bridges, markets, sculptures, the theater district, parks, museums and more just waiting to be discovered.

It’s just a few minutes drive to Washington Park where you’ll tour the Arlington Heights residential area and the Hoyt Arboretum. In Washington Park, you’ll visit the world-renowned International Rose Test Gardens and the incredible gift shop. Next, you’ll tour the Japanese Gardens. The Gardens include a formal Japanese Tea House, meandering streams, intimate walkways, and an unsurpassed view of Mt. Hood (The Japanese Gardens are not available on Mondays when we head to the World Forestry Center instead).

Your tour will end in Downtown Portland at Pioneer Courthouse Square at approximately 12:00 PM.

Please note: On Mondays, the World Forestry Center is substituted for the Japanese Garden.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Japanese Garden (except Monday)
  • Pioneer Courthouse Square
  • International Rose Test Gardens

  • Duration: 3 HOURS
